Very good shoes. Comfortable, strong, and nice looking. The fit was right. The only flaw I could find (albeit a bit picky) was that the laces that come with the shoes are too long. One has to make oversize loops to get them not to drag on the floor. I recommend them.

Just what I wanted! Most people would probably agree these are good looking shoes, but I also found them to be comfortable right out of the box. The arch support is sufficient for me since I don't require much. I did need to order a half-size larger than other dress shoes, but overall I am very happy with them. As usual, Zappos service is unbelievably great!

I'll break my review in sections: price, quality, comfort, and style. Price: Well affordable for the quality...Quality: As expected from Clarks Bostonian, a very well built shoe. Although my preference is for a very slightly thicker sole with bit more extrusion (say about 2mm on each aspect), this shoe is very well built, and uses good quality leather for both upper and sole (yep, leather sole). Comfort: Nothing special here. But overall a comfortable shoe (average wear time about 5 hours in casual environment and NO dancing). Style: Lets just say it’s a well balanced mix of conservative + modern style. The shoe has medium-high shine which makes it very well paired with both dark/tan trousers as well as jeans.I was skeptical purchasing something like a shoe without trying it on first but Zappos did a pretty good job of detailing it. I am quite happy with this purchase.

They're lightweight dress shoes. They're reasonably comfortable to walk around in. The ridged bumps on the sole are already starting to wear off so I imagine the traction on them in rain and slippery ground will worsen over time. For the price, they're a fine buy.

Very pleased but minor flaws... The shoes are absolutely amazing. Only problem is that the sole will squeak if it gets wet. It seems as if it is real loose and water gets in it. The only other mentionable thing is that they are loud shoes.

Seems like a nice shoe... ran about a 1/2 size too big.

Great shoe, true to size. Had previously purchased the Akron from a brick and mortar. Found it a bit too narrow for my taste (although it was extremely comfortable). No blisters, no heel or ankle rubbing after the first day. Felt broken in almost immediately. I highly recommend this brand/style... and Zappos! was as great as ever with shipping and customer service.

Great shoe. The size of shoe I generally wear is between a 14 and 15, with 15 winning the battle most of the time. The shoes took about 2 full days of walking in at work before they felt like they were broken in. Since then, the shoes have been great and after a month still look brand new. The shoe opening spreads easy to put on and tightens up quickly. Tried the Dockers Gordon at the same time. Was a smaller fit and seemed too narrow.

Couldn't be happier with these shoes. They're stylish without being gaudy. They're lightweight, comfy, and you can dress them up or down.

Look nice, but they ain't no Ecco - I tried these because they were rated well and because I couldn't shell out the money for the Eccos that I've ordered before. Well, they are half the price, but they didn't last 1/4 the time. I still wear my very beat-up Eccos to work around the house. They look like hell now but they are still comfortable. My Bostonians both look bad and are hard on my back now. I'm getting a new pair of Eccos this time and a polishing kit.

I purchased two pairs of these shoes (brown and black) about 1.5 years ago. These have been very good shoes for the long haul - I work in a bank and wear these 5 days a week with a suit, and have always liked these shoes' classic look. These shoes do require some breaking in, but once your feet adjust these shoes are reasonably comfortable and solidly made (dress shoes will never feel like running shoes). As with any nice dress shoe, you need to regularly polish these to keep them looking nice and get rid of scuffs. I will probably replace them soon with another Bostonian shoe as I like this brand.

I purchased these shoes mainly for their ability through airport security. I am an airline employee and therefore do not have to take off my shoes through security as long as they do not set off the metal detector. Even though these shoes are sold as a non-stop, they have tripped the metal detectors at two airports my first week wearing them. Otherwise a great shoe.

Beautiful shoes, but like another reviewer I have found that on a couple days with heavier walking, I get a blister on the back of my left heel. The back seems narrower than with other Bostonians I have purchased, producing a certain degree of pinching for me.

The shoe runs a bit long in the toes, but otherwise is just fine. The cushion that comes with the shoe does not provide very good support, but a shoe insert takes care of that. The width on these shoes is excellent (especially for those of us with wide feet that have trouble finding adequately broad shoes).

Disappointed - I have been wearing the shoes for about 6 weeks and at first they felt good. The uppers are comfortable and light but the problem is with the heel. Walking to work this morning the heel fell off in the middle of the street! The heel material is not durable and has been steadily wearing down for the past few weeks until it finally came loose today. I never expected these shoes to fall apart after only a month and a half. I am very disappointed and would not recommend to anyone.

The shoes look great, but I think the sizing is off. I purchased an 8.5 W (EE), and it is not quite wide enough. The shoe also flexes at a weird place when I walk and compresses the bone leading to the big toe.

This is a comfortable and surprisingly lightweight shoe. Comfortable from the moment they came out of the box and didn't need any break in period. Zappos is the best!

Shoes fit nice and look great. I won't lie and say ANY dress shoes are comfortable, but they are at least on par with any other dress shoes I have.

Bought these for my teenage son. They look pretty good for an inexpensive shoe. Sleek toe lines, extremely light-weight, has traction without looking too "rubberized". I also ordered the Bostonian Sherborn, but side-by-side the Trota looks 100% better. (Sherborn is cushier inside, but chunky/clunky/more square).

Great value! Have owned many pairs of this shoe many years ago when Bostonian was in its prime. Haven't seen this style in years, and it has been somewhat value engineered (i.e. leather is nice, but not quite what it once was, also now made overseas, for whatever that is worth). Sizing was right on the money. One important note: I ordered both the black and burgundy version. The burgundy one arrived with a full leather sole. The black one came with a synthetic sole that is not nearly as comfortable and had less flexibility out of the box.

True to size, true to width. Very comfortable and good looking. Be aware that the heel is made entirely of soft rubber, so it compresses easily and makes very little sound.

I am a banker and I'm on my feet standing or walking all day every day. This shoe is very comfortable and never requires being 'broken in' ...it feels like I've been wearing them for a month when I put them on the first day. It is also an attractive shoe and it looks very professional.

These shoes are outstanding. I first purchased it in a Bostonian store. When I experienced how comfortable they are and needed to replace a few years later, I looked for them again but the Bostonian store in the mall had closed. I was SO happy when I found them online at Zappos! I would normally not buy shoes without trying them on, but these shoes are truly comfortable from the first time I wear them. For men with a slightly wider foot and who walk a lot, this really is the best dress shoe! And it's made in Italy!! You don't see that too much these days.

Amazing comfort and style wrapped into one - This is a great all around shoe that's comfortable and stylish. I initially bought a pair of Bostonian 2 Pod shoes but promptly returned them due to their complete lack of comfort. I decided to try the Duralites instead, and as soon I put them on, I was sold. They're incredibly light weight yet sturdy, and they look very professional. It took only about a day to break them in, and I feel like I can walk for hours without any problems. I highly recommend this shoe.

Lightweight but solid - The Trota is a lightweight shoe built on what feels like a sturdy, stable platform. I'm out on the streets often during work hours and the Trota is very comfortable over the long haul of a workday. Flexible yet solid sole with polyurethane/rubberized bottom, has great traction. The shoe is dressy and appropriate for a full suit or just slacks and a shirt. Great styling, excellent build and quality overall. True to size but room enough for a slightly heavier winter sock when the time comes.
