In 1990, Ariat International co-founders Beth Cross and Pam Parker set out to create a new company and a new way of thinking about footwear for riders. Both riders with backgrounds in the athletic shoe industry, they realized the unique needs of equestrians – both in the saddle and on the ground – and the performance-enhancing benefits that could be brought to riding boots to give these athletes an edge.
So they assembled a group of top footwear engineers and designers, and set them on the task of creating the world's most technically innovative performance riding boots. They started by re-designing the outsole, rethinking the arch support system and finally taking a hard look at the suitability of "traditional" last shape and fit. While they were establishing the technology platform for Ariat boots, they were also talking to hundreds of top riders who helped in the design and development of the final product.
In 1993, Ariat shipped their first pair of boots, and today Ariat is the world leader in performance equestrian footwear, offering a full range of English and Western riding boots, work boots and casual footwear – plus new lines of performance apparel and accessories to fully outfit today’s equine athletes and equestrian-inspired lifestyle enthusiasts.

A great boot!
I bought these boots for my sister-in law. She loved them. She put them on right away and wore them all day. She did note they were a bit tight in the heel at first but knew they'd stretch out. The color is a rich cherry red. I liked them so much, I’m tempted to get a pair for myself!

This felt very true to size to me. Might be a bit narrow if you have a really wide foot, but there's no pressure across the top of my foot and I have high arches. I have a pair of Hush Puppies suede flat moc-type boots that I have been looking to replace (after 5 years of wearing) and these are even better because they can go with jeans and even be dressed up a bit because of the wedge. But the sticky rubber sole will keep you from falling on your butt during icy conditions. The suede is a very low nap that I think will stay looking nice for years to come. I'm getting the Durango in black, which seems to be a taller version of this boot. Love them!

Great idea, but way to narrow for my needs. I've used the XA Pro 3D in regular width and it barely worked, but this one is just too narrow. When will Salomon offer different widths for their shoes?

And I love them! All the testimonials on this boot really helped me make my decision, thanks gals! They are the perfect boot and are surprisingly comfortable. I have large calves from running, and even these fit me. They are very flattering with a pair of skinny jeans.

I would suggest ordering a size down. They will feel tight for a couple days but then they will fit great. I would also strongly encourage a suede protector spray. Otherwise you'll deal with lots of discoloration.

Almost perfect -
These clogs are beautiful. I can wear them comfortably all day, even though I have bunion issues. I thought they might have a bit more cushioning in the footbed. I'm a teacher, on my feet all day and walking between classes a lot and they are still comfortable. I can't use my orthotics in them or my foot hits the top of the shoe; but I really don't need them in these clogs. I recommend them overall.

Ariat's ROCK!
I have one pair of Justin boots & 3 pairs of Ariats. They look really slick but they are functional as well. I haven't worn another type of shoe in so long it's ridiculous. But these boots are well worth what I paid for them and I am always on the lookout for awesome deals on new ones.

Good lookin' comfort!
When I wear these Ariat Legend boots all day I forget about my feet, that is a great testament to the comfort and fit. I usually wear a size 10 1/2, and have narrow feet, so I have a huge problem finding comfortable shoes. The Legend 10 medium fits me great. I got the copper color and have gotten several complements on my boots.

These boots are simply, the best. I ordered a 5.5 when I'm usually a 6 so yes they run a bit large (but the shaft is still a good size). They are the perfect cowboy boots; they make a statement without making one look to tacky if worn as casual everyday boots. They look great with sun dresses and jeans. (If you want to tuck your jeans into them however, they only look good with a very skinny jean.) These boots are cute and comfortable and I recommend them to anyone wanting a pair of cowboy boots!

I fell in love with the look of these boots! They're so cute! And very comfortable after once you get over the initial boot shock. Unfortunatly, this style is sized smaller with a narrower width than other Ariat boots I own. Additionally, the first time I wore them the boot pulls came apart so they were returned.

The order was placed at 2:00 on Saturday and arrived at 10:00 on Monday. I put the boots on and wore them for an entire day with no pain. They felt like an old friend! I hate shoe shopping! When I need another pair, forget the mall, etc. I'll be back.

If you are a city-girl, you'll love the comfort of these attractive boots. You can walk around in them all day. I recently wore them to Disneyland and had no problems walking around all over the place. I'm sure the gals wearing them for riding will agree. You cannot mess with any of the Ariat Fatbaby boots!

Gorgeous craftsmanship; cushioned innersole comfort (with a quality leather topping); rubbery, gripping, bottom sole; thick, high-quality leather.
In a snow-sleet-hail storm they got soaked--but only on the outside. My feet stayed warm and dry. Next day, the discoloring from the soaking was gone. They literally looked brand new!
A bit heavier than my favorite-type shoe (light, thin-skinned dance-type shoes). But a real find in its category.
I wear 7 1/2-8. Bought an 8 just to be safe. Too big. Exchanged for 7 1/2--it's perfect.
And Zappos--wonderful!--even gave me the lower "sale price" of the first pair, although I hadn't sent it back yet. I wanted to compare the two sizes side-by-side.

Very Cute Boots! I live in Germany and don't actually see many cowboy boots here but I wear these a lot. The Ariat Valencia is most definitely one of the cutest mules I've worn & by far one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned! The moment I put these shoes on, it was as if I had been wearing them forever. Having had foot surgery, comfort is extremely important. However, I didn't want to trade comfort for style and didn't have to with this choice! Great purchase... will be a customer for life.

At first it's a little tight when you put it on, but that’s the way it is with any new pair of shoes. I looked everywhere for the most sparkly, outlandish yet comfy western boot out there and I found them. Zappos even gave me free shipping. From now on, I will only shop for shoes at Zappos.

Nice, but careful!
As a waitress I needed comfortable shoes and these are really comfortable, but they are not secure at all on wet floor. You are sliding as on ice and I already fell in the middle of the restaurant. So I will just say that they are just very nice and comfy, but not for this job!
