Excellent Shoe for the Price -
I only have one complaint on this shoe and the brand as a whole. This shoe wears out way too quickly. I had my first pair for years, but now they are made cheap and like I said earlier are worn out after only 6 months of use.

Sneakers to Sturdy Shoes -
About 4 years ago, my husband discovered a New Balance suede upper walking shoe. The shoes were so comfortable he bought 5 pairs. He wore all of them out. My husband is arthritic. He has a protruding bunion and hammer toe on his right foot. After wearing those shoes every day it became more and more difficult for him to wear a regular shoe. In spite of the suede upper, the New Balance was a sneaker. After wearing sneakers for a length of time keeps your feet moist makes your feet extremely tender. The Deer Stags were a God send. He was able to adjust to them quickly.

The most comfortable shoe -
I have a very large foot 16 extra wide 3-5E. I am also very tall and weigh 400 pounds so shoes are always an issue for me. They wear out quickly and have to be broken in for comfort. However, these Deer Stags fit perfect and were so comfortable from the first moment I put them on that I find I don't take them off as soon as I can. I am very impressed with the comfort and stability of this shoe.

Good shoe for a good price -
I thought this was a good deal for under $60.00. The only real complaint I have is the "Supro Sock" on the inside of the shoe. In this particular pair of shoes the sock has begun coming up and wads in a ball by the end of the work day. Other than that the shoe was a great buy.

Deer Stags - Great Comfort!
Excellent shoe. Have been buying Deer Stags 'Times' style for years. Padded around the ankle. Very comfortable and comes in wides! Usually buy them at shoe stores or Department stores. They are getting harder and harder to find in stores. After spending 7 hours in a mall looking for them, came home and with two clicks, purchased on ZAPPOS ! Why didn't I think of Zappos first! ZAPPOS WOW and fast delivery!!

Great Service -
My order was a replacement of a shoe that came apart on the bottom. I have been wearing this style shoe for a couple of years now and it's the first time I had a problem. Zappos rushed a replacement shoe to me almost overnight! Truly great service can still be found.

I'm a lifelong convert...
I'm a military officer, and switched to Deer Stags about ten years ago, when my assignment had me on my feet all day from 0730 to 1600. My first pair of Deer Stags converted me for life...at least for my uniform shoe. One note: I've become an expert in black low-quarter shoes such as these over my 20 year military career...this new Deer Stag model definitely is at least a half size larger than marked...absolutely no question about it. Compared to my previous Deer Stags, compared to Bates, compared to Rockport...this model is definitely a half size larger at least.

Comfy...
Very comfortable, yet dressy. I recently began an internship in DC that requires formal clothing, and I needed a non-Payless pair of -real- dress shoes. These were almost the same price as the other dress shoes I have (which are from Payless, and are plasticy), fit very nicely, and are more comfortable than any other shoes I own. The only drawback to them that I've noticed might just be exclusive to my feet: After walking in them for awhile, the end of the shoe, just past the laces, started to get a crease-like fold, and every time I took a step, the shoe folded there and cramped the top of my toes.

Comfortable shoes -
These were my first shoes from Zappos and I'm happy with them. I like the comfort and they look alright. The price is hard to beat, and I've ordered another pair of Deer Stags, the Capital.
One note: the brown is a very dark, burgundy brown.

Very Well Cushioned -
Outstanding comfort. SUPRO floor is like walking on cushioned rubber. Not a tight fitting shoe to begin with, I wear them even a little big, allows even better air flow, allows them (like most dress shoes) to be cooler in summer. They don't have the most form fitting support, so I would prefer not to "run after" somebody with them on. But like I said, they have good air flow by not gripping your foot so tight. And like I say, the SUPRO bottom is almost like walking on air. I use these 1-2 times a week as treat for my feet to be comfortable around an office, per se.

Happy with this shoe.
I have found these shoes to be very comfortable from the first time I put them on. They are the most supportive shoe that I have. And quite a value. They look good rather I am in a suit or in a shirt and jeans.

I have the same shoe in the same size in brown.
For some reason, there is not as much toe cap room in the recently purchased black pair.
At first, I thought that wearing them all day for a few days would stretch them enough. The discomfort, however, persists.

Get what you pay for.
They are not a bad shoe for the price. But remember, you get what you pay for. These are not Rockports. If you are a big guy, these start going downhill real quick. Two to Three weeks. Should be fine for all you normal sized folks. Zappos...the way online buying should be.

First time buyer of this brand trying to find an affordable casual oxford lace-up for work. The shoe also feels a bit too high in the heel area causing it to push on a nerve and hurt when walking. Had to add an insole to make the shoe more comfortable. The SUPRA shock thing is overrated and bizarre. Why make an insole with a large foam cushion in the heel of the insole rather than as part of the shoe itself? If for any reason the bottom of the shoe is even slightly punctured, I'm sure water will seep into it and this shoe becomes garbage.

Most people look at me like I have a third eye when I tell them I order shoes on-line. The Deer Stags are the second pair of shoes I've purchased from Zappos.com. I read the reviews before purchasing either pair. Both pair fit as reviewed. I was not disappointed. With the Deer Stags, I concur with what one fellow said in that they were a little uncomfortable initially. After a few hours wear they seemed to be fine. Now they are very comfortable. My wife was hesitant with my purchase. She thinks they look great. We were both surprised they were at the house one day after ordering regular shipping. Wow! Great job, Zappos, and all at a very reasonable price.

I have to walk a lot for my job and these shoes are the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever worn. Also don't have to take them off when going through security. They feel a bit larger than marked, but that's not a huge deal. My big complaint is that the uppers developed pronounced creases on the first day of wearing them. They do hold a shine very well though.

Deer Stags---Keep Making Shoes -
Deer Stags are the finest dress/casual shoe that I have ever come across. They "break-in" in about five hours of wear time, and fit nicely for walking, dancing, and lounging thereafter. This attests to the quality materials and workmanship of the shoe. This is my second pair of 'Stags, and when more styles appeal, I will purchase them. From a guy that spends 95% of his leisure time barefoot, this is high praise.

 |  | I wanted to email to give thanks. I ordered a pair of replacement Salomon XA Pros, using Zappos for the first time. I had heard of you, but had never tried you before. I initially ordered a pair in 10.5 red, but was emailed early the next morning that the pair was inexplicably unavailable. I got back on and ordered the same shoes but in yellow. Upon completing my order, I called and spoke with a rep who was very helpful, both describing the circumstances that caused the initial order to be cancelled. He then went one step further and upgraded my order to free overnight shipping. As if that wasn't enough, right? The pair I received was a half-size too small. I called to arrange an exchange for a size 11, and in addition to receiving authorization, I was again greeted with above-and-beyond service. I was informed that the price had dropped since I placed the order initially, so I was given credit back onto my credit card for the new difference. At this point I didn't think I could be much happier with the level of attention I had received, but was quickly proven wrong: on top of all that had been done thus far, I was also upgraded to free overnight shipping again.
