Wearing the OluKai Hiapo is like being on a perpetual vacation. The arch support allows me to wear them all day without my feet feeing tired. Flip flops are my thing--I have a variety in my closet. The OluKai Hiapo's are the only ones I reach for. Yes, this "ride" is spendy, but well worth the cash. They felt great on the first test drive and continue to feel great. I am considering another OluKai in a different style. Zappos is the only way to go. The customer service is amazing. You people rock!

These sandals are awesome!! Right out of the box very comfortable, stylish and not to mention well made. I have an arch like the Golden Gate Bridge and these sandals have excellent arch support and are true to size! They are a bit pricey but look great and feel even better, so to me it's worth the extra money! And as always Zappos rocks!!!

First time flip wearer. I needed a "dressy" all leather flip to wear around the pools in Las Vegas (or so my wife told me.) After wearing these for a just a few days, I cannot believe it took me until age 50 to slip a pair onto my feet. Excellent support, great looks, and what appears to be very sound construction. They were a hit around the poolside!

I'm not a guy who likes flip-flops with a thong between your toes, but my wife convinced me that my no thong Foot-Joy flip flops weren't "cool" or "adult" enough for her. So, after trying on dozens of flip-flops in different stores, I came to Zappos and read reviews until I settled on four pairs to try. With their free shipping both ways, I was able to find the perfect pair. The stiff-looking leather that goes between your toes is actually very comfortable - no chafing no matter how long I wear them. And they stay comfortable. You get what you pay for, and the price for these flip-flops seemed extravagant, but it's been a smart move for this picky shopper.

Maybe my expectations were unreasonably high based on all of the great reviews, or maybe my feet are not the type that the Hiapo was designed for but I find that the comfort is not what I expected, especially for the price. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for quality and comfort, it's just that the comfort was not where it should have been at the price point on the Hiapo. The top strap should have been constructed of softer, more comfortable materials. I do have a narrow, somewhat flat foot, the design and comfort of the foot bed was good for me. I have had a difficult time breaking the Hiapo in; the top strap has been extremely uncomfortable and would have worn blisters on the top of my foot if I had not taken the shoe off while breaking it in. Fortunately, I allowed plenty of time for break-in and wasn't forced to do a lot of walking and wind up with blisters. I am very happy with the styling of the Hiapo and the overall quality of the materials used seems good. I read in other reviews that people have worn them at the beach and have gotten them wet. The all-leather style does come with a brochure which states that the leather is not designed for use around water, so I wouldn't do this with the leather model. As usual the service provided by Zappos was excellent. Their prices aren't always the best but Zappos customer service is consistently outstanding and I don't mind paying a little extra for that (it's why I bought a Mac). I gave the Hiapo an overall rating of 3 stars because I don't think that the comfort to value ratio is where it should be. The comfort got 2 stars, the footbed was comfortable for me, but the top strap is still not as comfortable as it needs to be. The style gets 5 stars in my book. This shoe definitely runs small, I recommend ordering a size larger than you normally would.

I received my original order yesterday with next day shipping. That in its own right is greatness, considering free shipping. I read many of the reviews about ordering a size bigger because they would run a size smaller, but I was caught in a dilemma. I wear 10.5, so I thought getting the 11 size would be more acceptable, they were not! So, using Zappos’ great shipping and return policy, I returned them for a straight exchange for 12s. They were shipped that night w/next day shipping and received them at 5:00 that next day without having returned the wrong sized ones yet (great customer service). Comfort is second to none. I have a very high arch that causes me discomfort in my heels and the sides of my feet. These OluKai have taken all of that away for now. Plus, their designs are so original. I had a hard choice, they were all intriguing. I have had them for only a couple of days, so I will post a 3 month wear test in the future.

I love these sandals! I have very flat feet and have found most sandals uncomfortable when walking for longer periods of time. These sandals have a high arch that support my feet very well. I can wear these all day with no problems and have received several compliments

I hope this helps someone...I was very skeptical about 'investing' in these sandals; I have never paid so much for a pair of sandals. I bought four different sandals from Zappos and used their great return/exchange policy with next day shipping to swap out ALL of them. I needed some awesome sandals to take with me to Belize for vacation/brother's wedding and these were awesome!!! These sandals are so comfortable and the leather is very, very supple. If you have never purchased from this brand, like me, please consider these sandals your number one choice. I am seriously considering buying another pair in a different color scheme. As for the fit, I would say that they are about a half size smaller than advertised, and the width is on the 'generous' side. So if you are like me and have Fred Flintstone feet, these sandals are without question, made for you!

Love this shoe...unlike most "thong type" sandals, this shoe is very comfortable to walk in. It looks great with any type of casual wear. It is made very well and the leather is a very good quality.

These are incredibly comfortable flip-flops with really great arch support. They took a day or two to break in, but at no point were they painful. If you are someone, like me, who wears flip-flops throughout the summer as your primary footwear, these absolutely justify their price tag. Also, because they are fairly understated style-wise, they can be dressed up or down.

Ok. I wear sandals probably 6 months a year in the northeast and have tried all different brands. At first I thought $100 was just too much for a pair of flip flops. However, after using them for 10 days straight I don't think you are doing them justice by calling the Hiapo's "flip flops". I took them with me on a trip to Egypt. I also brought along another pair of shoes which ended up being too large on me so I relied on the Hiapo's much more than planned. After 1 day I was sold. I used them on just about every kind of terrain and my feet never felt better after 8-10 hrs a day of heavy use. Most impressive though - ON MY NEXT TO LAST DAY I CLIMBED MT. SINAI WITH THEM. It was 7KM up very steep and rocky terrain. It was a 3-4 hr trip up to watch the sunset and 1.5 hrs back down at night. My feet were just fine the next morning and after a quick wash the Hiapo's looked great too. I have the pics to prove it. I couldn't believe it. I would recommend them to anyone who wants the most comfortable sandals on the market today. I will be an OluKai customer for a long time to come.

Best Flip Flop Ever!
This is the most comfortable flip flop my husband has ever tried. We got them for him as a birtday present and he loved them. They are pretty pricey, but the details on the footbed are so cool and the leather is a great quality. Plus, the bottom is really unique and great on wet surfaes.

A Girl's Point of View -
OK, I ordered the men's shoe because women's was unavailable. I had the latter for 2 years before they broke. I live in California so I wear them all the time and I am really hard on my flip-flops so 2 years is amazing. Seemed the only difference between the men’s and women’s were the straps were a little thicker so the breaking in took two days rather than one. That, and of course,I had to order a size smaller. My first pair broke at the post while hiking (I live in the hills and walk my dog on the horse trails surrounding my house and these are the ONLY flip-flops I would do that in), but other than that, they had no signs of wear and tear on the sole. I will never buy any other flip-flops again. I used to wear Rainbows or Sanuks. The shoes, however, never made it a full year; the soles would be worn away, the straps would be stretched beyond comfort, and the foot-bed had a permanent impression of my foot - so at the end of summer, I was happy to throw them away... and I never wore them walking or hiking! When my Olukai's broke, I went right to Zappos because I knew that would be the fastest way to replace them.

Solid sandal but needs a few improvements -
These are very nice just like everyone says. These are comfortable, but only when it's warm out. Arch support is probably the best I've seen in a sandal. I bought the darker brown color and wish I had gone with the sandstone color or the black, but at the time they didn't have my size. I live in SF and find myself not being able to wear them often. The leather gets stiff and cold. Secondly, if you are looking to wear them all the time and/or you drag your feet just a little bit. You'll find these will wear out quick. Look at the pic of the sole. The leather wraps around the bottom and the rubber sole isn't very thick. So my only big complaint is the bottom sole and how easy it is to wear them out and have to replace them every 2 years.

Most Comfortable Flip Flops Ever Owned!
These flip flops were absolutely worth the price. A little more expensive than your typical shoes, but way more comfortable! The arch support is wonderful, and they didn't even need breaking in! I would highly recommend these if you want a comfortable walking experience!

Flips were definitely a size smaller than I typically wear (size 10). One thing that was a disappointment is after less than a month the straps peeled away from the sole. None of the above was a problem due to the stellar service of Zappos. Simply a minor inconvenience for me.

Best flops on the market, period!!!
I've been wearing flops my whole life. I always wore Reefs up until about 5 yrs ago. Then I switched to Sanuks. When I found out my favorite pair of Sanuks were eaten by my dog, and I couldn't purchase another pair because they were discontinued. I figured I'd try a pair of OluKai's. They are hands down the most comfortable flops on the market period. A little pricey, but if you wear them like I do, they're totally worth the money. Enjoy!!!

Best Flip Flops Ever!
I am a woman with wide feet. I have had some luck ordering men's size 7s in Merrells and thought I would try these, since they come in 7 as well. I hesitated because of the price, but these sandals are well worth the cost. The arch support is great, so I don't have to wear orthotics with these. I have been wearing them all summer and they are made so well that they still look new!

I love putting these sandals on everyday!
Great sandals! I had been wearing another pair, and didn't realize how little arch support I was getting until I tried these. Love the Maori style design. These shoes are so great; I have caught my partner sneaking off to run errands in them. I'm gonna have to break down and buy another pair! Delivery was AWESOME! I ordered at 11pm at night, and were delivered by 3:30PM the very next day...it was insanely quick!! I have no clue how they pulled that off so quick.

A real fine sandal -
After reading a number of reviews, I ordered a full size larger, than my normal size 11. The sandal was VERY comfortable, but I thought that it would stretch with use and then feel too loose. So I ordered my normal size, and I'm glad I did! It has stretched and for me, fits perfectly.
