Glad I found these. I was set to order a pair of Converse but never sure which size to order. They run big, they run true, etc.. I normally wear size 9 and the high top Pro-Keds fit fine. Mine are all black which I prefer. I haven\'t had these long enough to judge long term quality but certainly appear in line with other similar brands.

So far I am very pleased with these shoes. They fit true to size from what I can tell. I have the black on black color scheme and love the look. I have been a fan of Chucks (and always will be), but I like how these have the look, but are a subtle way to look different. Dress 'em up, dress 'em down. All performance style that's hard to beat.

I've been wearing Chucks and Vans for many years now. Needing to replace a pair of Vans, I was looking through Zappos various selections and saw an old favorite from my high school days - Keds Royal Lo Canvas. I used to play basketball in these, and remembered them with fond nostalgia. These fit my foot so much better than either of the aforementioned shoes and the retro looks seal the deal, as it were. They are more comfortable, to me, and took little to no time to break in. They look great with shorts, jeans, or my work uniform, khakis. I'm going to buy a pair of the black or navy blue ones, as well.

I'm a huge fan of the Pro Keds Royal Suede! I wore them all the time back in the 70s and have been wearing them again for the last few years. But the blue was never my fave so I'd like to also go on record requesting that Pro Keds also make the White (actually kinda grayish) suede Royals. Those were the ones that everyone wanted (and still wants)!

Love the style of these bad boys. Look great with long pants or shorts. The leather is mildly shiny so they're not too flashy. The stripes are little reflectors for nighttime visibility. The only problem I have with them is that the toe is a little narrow and hurt the outsides of my feet the first few weeks I had em. Couldn't walk far without my little toes hurting. Even after breaking them in I wouldn't consider them the most comfortable sneak around. This may have to do with the shape of my foot and not the shoe, but whatever. Overall, really like them. Stylish but not showy.

Definitely I love my PK. Recollections of adolescence bring me. The form, style and comfort are top. The foot feels very good with them. For some reason I am charmed with them with very short socks and also without them. They give me a special sensation to my feet. The classic PK are wonderful. Congratulations PK for making the classic Royal Canvas again.

Awesome sneaker - one minor issue is that women’s size is 1.5 smaller than men’s (not 2 sizes). I love these sneakers; they are actually very comfortable, even after a long day on my feet. They look and feel great.

An outstanding pair of sneakers that are comfortable to wear, offer a lot of support and traction. I bought the black-on-black ones as they can be worn for most occasions. I wear a comparable Converse in a 9.0, but the Pro-Keds fit me fine in a size 10.5. If you know your Converse size, you might want to go up a size in-a-half in the Pro-Keds. As always, Zappos.com came through just fine.

I just got my first pair of Pro-Keds in more than 30 years and I love them! They look just like I remember them in the 1970s (except they don't have the little blue tag in the back). I've been waiting forever for these to come back. I could never understand why Chuck Taylors stayed around all these years and Pro-Keds disappeared. I always thought the Pro-Keds were the nicer looking of the two. I plan on getting some Hi Canvas to go with the Lo Canvas I just bought.

Pro Keds hi canvas was the sneaker when I was a child. I always love the PK, and now I am very happy because I can wear the same sneaker again. For me PK Hi and Low canvas are perfect... design, color, confort, elegance. I love Pro Keds a lot!

Pro Keds Royal - Glad Ked's went back to the blue heal logo. I just wish they would have used the original classic type style. If your going to to it, do it right. Had to order a size and a half up to get a comfortable fit. When Keds were made in the U.S. they were true to size. Nice style. I wish they'd take that sill logo sewn on the tongue off. I have to cut it off with each pair. I hate logos. These are supposed to be classic shoes. Less is more people at Keds! I bought the navy and all black. I wish Keds would make an all navy with navy soles like the all black. Then, they'd have something. I wonder who decides this stuff. I guess I shouldn't complain too much. You couldn't even buy men's Keds for years.

I bought these for my 16 year old son. Can't get to much information out of him, other than he likes them, they're fine. No news is good news with my son. If he had disliked them he wouldn't wear them, and I would most definitively hear about. The only drawback it's that he just can't slip into them, and it takes him a while to loosen opening laces, and re-lace making a snug fit. It could be that since his shoe size is a 14 men's maybe there's just a lot more to slip into. Sneaker slipping off, is no problema. I chose them first of all because they were Keds, nice look, and prior review seemed decent.

I love them. I had Keds when I was a kid, and for some reason they popped into my head, so I got them. I'm glad I did. I don't see anyone else with them and they look great, as well as being very comfortable. Great with jeans.

Within a week of wearing these shoes, one of the seams have busted open and now I have a hole in them. I don't know if they just weren't wide enough for my feet, but apparently they don't hold up well.

I've always been a Pro-Keds fanatic and saw these and my jaw dropped. How cool do these look? Well, I got them last week and they are decent, but I think they are dropping quality standards a bit these days. The fit and finish are good, but I surprised that they were so light - if you recall the Pro-Keds from the late 70's - they were NOT light at all. Heavy and substantial. Hopefully this "lightness" is an advance in materials, not a cheapening of materials. The soles/insoles even seem thinner and cheaper than the pro-Keds I got just last year. The whole shoe feels less quality. Hmm. On the plus side, they have brought back the blue tag on the heel which had been missing on the latest generation. The neg. side is that text on the cushion is way too big and ugly. Overall, super cool and comfortable, but I'm concerned about the materials and how they will hold up.

Just received my Pro-Keds Royal CVO's. What a great shoe! Very comfortable and a true classic, complete with the Keds blue heel logo. This is the direction Keds should be taking with men's shoes going forward. Very comfortable and well made. Will order the red ones too, for a complete set.

As a fan of many of the NBA players in the 1970's (especially Pete Maravich), I wore the Royal Master Suede back then. In those days, the shoes were hard to find. And because of that, I got away from ProKeds for many years. I re-discovered the brand about 5 years ago while browsing an athletic shoe store. I saw a pair of the Royal Master Suede on the shelf. I had to have them, so I walked out of the store with a big smile on my face, carrying my newly bought ProKeds under my arm. I have since ordered another pair through Zappos, not wanting to lose the connection to ProKeds again. The shoes are just like I remembered them some 30 years before, comfortable and durable. When these 2 pair wear out, I plan to order the Royal Master Suede again. However, I wish they were made in the several different colors (especially white) like they were in the early 70's, rather than just black and blue suede. I would own one of each color. Thanks for bringing the Royal Master Suede back.

This shoe is super cute and I have received many compliments. Unfortunately, not very comfy. Not much more padding than Chuck Taylors. It's not an uncomfortable shoe, but nothing you want to take a long walk in the city in. The reflective stripes are awesome for bike riding at night though, you'll definitely be seen! Also, they are rather long and my foot isn't exactly petite, but I've gotten over the goofy foot issues as they are so cool looking.

It is inevitable that people mistake these amazing sneakers as Converse, but although they may look similar, the Pro-Ked Royal is far superior in many ways!! I have worn both brands, and there is no way I can go back to Converse now that I've had the Pro-Keds. I walk quite a bit and these shoes just last so much longer! They are also a little wider and fit better at the ankle. I've also spent a lot of time on my feet and never needed to use arch support inserts with the Pro-Keds. Overall, a really great sneaker!

Fun, Bright Shoes - These shoes are pretty comfy and boy are they bright red! The red *will* leach out to dye your socks and things, so watch out. It comes right off. The shoe is also quite narrow and long so you might feel a bit like Ronald McDonald when you put them on.

They were perfect, just like when I was a kid. I like the insert in the shoe. I just wish they had the original blue pro-keds label that goes on the heel of the sneaker.

About Pro-Keds

Pro-Keds PRO-Keds began in 1949 as a brand aimed at sports and athletic performance. Based on quality, durability and a solid reputation, PRO-Keds became one of the leading names in athletic footwear. The first PRO-Keds shoe, originally released as the Royal Tread, was the Royal, a classic canvas basketball shoe in high and low tops featuring an identifying red and blue power stripe adjacent to the toe. The Royal was worn and endorsed by the then Minneapolis Lakers, the first-ever NBA® champions, who won five consecutive titles in PRO-Keds, led by the great George Mikan.

By the late 70's, PRO-Keds was worn by a portfolio of NBA stars and had become tantamount with the biggest personalities in sports. The athletic shoe brand grew into a full performance line for athletes, making PRO-Keds one of the oldest shoe brands in the world.

Many styles attained cult status in the neighborhoods of New York among the streetwise who adopted PRO-Keds shoes as the first real sneakers with style. PRO-Keds became the shoe of choice with b-boys everywhere and earned its place as a true icon of early hip-hop culture.

After an absence of nearly 20 years, PRO-Keds shoes are reissuing some classic styles from its archives such as the Royal Canvas, the Court King and the historic Royal Master basketball shoe, bringing to life, once again, the heritage and history of this athletic brand.

To this day, PRO-Keds continues to stay rooted in its heritage with its classic styles while reinvigorating the footwear category with designs that capture today’s popular culture trends. In addition, Pro-Keds continues to progressively release authentic sports originals in a wide array of colors and materials, staying at the top of their game!
