Stop wrinkling your nose and making THAT face. Before you hit the back button, click on "Larger Image & Additional Views" and mouse over to "View 2". See? Pretty hip, eh? These are NOT your mother’s 1970’s-era Earth Shoe, as you may have feared by just glancing at the standard pic. Sure, they’ve got the requisite "comfort" features (cushy insole, sensible adjustable strap, and bouncy rubber wedge), but Tsubo has managed to get in all that sensible stuff in a really hip - even flattering! - design. (As other reviewers have noted, these work with pants, skirts, dresses, and ballgowns. Okay, maybe not ballgowns, but you get my drift.) After a particularly brutal test drive - a solid day hoofing it all around Georgetown, cobbled streets and all - I ended the day with no blisters, no back pain, and a handful of "where’d you get those shoes!?" I now have these in tan and black. Yup... they’re that good. Fit-wise: probably not for wide feet (or so a wide-footed friend tells me). And order 1/2 size down since the toe extends a tad longer than your typical sandal.

Love this shoe! I just got this shoe and I have to say that it is probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. It feels like a slipper or walking barefoot. I struggle to find a comfortable shoe that also looks cute and this one is. The ankle strap is very comfortable and the sole is solid, but the overall shape of the shoe is feminine and delicate. I can wear these with skirts and walk in comfort all day long. I literally feel like tripping around dancing when I have them on!

I normally wear a 10.5 and like all Tsubos that I've worn, size 11 was perfect. I have high arches and wider feet and these continue to be comfortable 2 months later. I did not find them too narrow. My favorite shoes that I currently own and plan on wearing them for a long time to come.

After looking at all the reviews on this shoe, I have to admit I was very disappointed after wearing them. I was really excited to have ordered these and was hoping to have a comfortable shoe to wear to work, but my feet were absolutely killing me after a couple hours! I work in retail and am on my feet for several hours at a time. By the time my shift ended, I could barely walk to my car I was in so much pain! I have wide feet with a high arch, and was really hoping these would work. But... they don't. At least not for me. Wear these in your place for several hours before you wear them outside if you can-I wish I had.

First off, I would like to thank Zappos for their extraordinary service, thank you. About this shoe, at first this shoe seemed very comfortable, but after actually wearing it around on my rug for while, I could feel the sole of the shoe on the ball of my foot. There isn't much padding at the ball of the foot; therefore, I could feel the grooves of the outside sole, which are hard. I don't think this shoe would be very comfortable after walking around on cement, and I need a shoe I can wear while walking on vacation. The problem may just be with my foot, but even so, this shoe will not work for me. The shoe looks great. I only wish the padding on the ball of the foot was as much as on the heel of the foot.

Gorgeous shoe, good for a foot without a lot of depth. I've got a foot on the "tall" side, so this shoe really cuts into my foot where the top/front ends. Otherwise, it's got a roomy toe box and is surprisingly comfortable for a high heel. Plus, it's just stunning. I considered keeping it and trying to stretch out the front. If you've got a shallower foot, this would probably be a great choice. I read the reviews that said this ran small so I ordered my true size and a half size up. The true size felt much better.

These shoes felt comfortable enough when I tried them on and wearing them daily for a few weeks of suburban commuting/working at the office. The first time I wore them for an extended amount of time and put some miles on them, I deeply regretted the purchase and was looking for a new pair of shoes after the first day of my vacation. I had horrible blisters on the top of my feet, and the cushioning fell off a cliff. I desperately looked forward to taking these off at the end of the day. Go with something else if you are on your feet a lot.

This is the second pair of these shoes I have gotten (2 different colors) and I love them. They are so comfortable for heels. I wear them whenever I know I will be walking any distance.

Great shoe! I have the suede version and have worn it to two concerts and was on my feet the whole time (dancing)... no pain whatsoever! It fits snugly, but not too tight... the heel stays right where it should be. I’m getting it in the leather, too!

This is the fourth pair of Tsubos I have purchased, and I love the brand and love these shoes. After searching high and low for a dress-up/dress-down black sandal, I found Balin. I have gotten tons of compliments on the shoe, which looks like it will be a standard, dressy peep toe, and then turns into a funky cool peep toe. And so comfortable! Highly recommended!

Had to send these back - they fit fine and seemed comfortable - I had ordered a half size down as suggested by another reviewer but they were just way too orthopedic looking. It may have been because I tried them in black? The other colors might work better...

These shoes are great! They fit perfectly. They were sent to my house in three days. Very fast. I wear them with jeans and they are sporty and casual. I will buy the tan color next.

This shoe is ok - For the price I would expect this shoe to be very comfortable. The inside is rather hard. I ordered a size 7, but I am a 7.5 and it is a bit snug. I would not recommend this shoe.

I was looking for a non-typical, not conservative looking black heel for work. The Tsubo Acrea fit the bit nicely. Comfortable out of the box (though I wear them with trouser socks 99% of the time - they slip a little with bare feet) and a perfect heel height for me, these shoes are my go-to pairs and I wear them at least twice a week. They look great with slim jeans or trousers and skirts alike. I can even walk a good distance in these. I've now had them for many months and will need to add a little padding at the ball of the foot for comfort but they still have lots of life left. Overall a really cool shoe and one of my better purchases!

Want another pair - Have the shoe in cork and now want in black. Can't find anywhere in my size. The shoe is comfortable, true to size and fashionable.

So cute, but they destroyed my feet the first time I wore them to walk to work - only fifteen minutes! I didn't have a chance to have blisters; they just rubbed the skin right off. I had worn them for short times before and thought they would break in, but no dice yet. The rest of the shoe is very comfortable, but the back cuts in quite sharply. Unfortunately, it's too late for me to return them. I will probably try wearing them with some moleskin and see if I can break them in eventually.

At first these shoes were quite uncomfortable around the opening, but when they started to get broken in they are quite comfortable. They add a lot of height without feeling like it because of the stacked heel.

Wanted to love it, but... I was hoping this shoe would replace my much loved black Skecher all around sandal worn for traveling, with skirts, jeans, capris, you name it. Pros: The foot bed is an extremely soft material, and the super soft leather straps are sure to be comfortable and not make your feet sweet. I also loved the style. Cons: The sharp angle at the toe is not for those with a longer second toe. The velcro strap was too short to be a snug fit, IMO, and unfortunately the metal apparatus fell directly on my ankle bone. I also found these shoes to be tippy, and I am very sure footed. Bummed indeed. Wanted to love them!

I'm really happy with these shoes. I'm on my feet all day and wanted to try something other than Dansko's for comfort. A few days of break in time but not bad at all - no band aids needed. I think these shoes are very stylish and can be worn not just for work. They do turn the bottoms of your feet a little blue if not worn with socks but the comfort outweighs this side effect. Either socks or feet, the blue does wash out.

Cool and comfy boots - I didn't have any of the issues with getting the boots on mentioned in other reviews. They are beautiful and comfortable too.

This shoe is the most comfortable and stylish shoe I have had in years. I mean it looks great and you can walk in it all day.Very versatile, goes well with pants, casual skirts, shorts; one of those rare shoes that covers most of the bases.

I love Zappos, great service and super fast shipping! I love these shoes! The only problem is that the ankle strap could be a little longer. The strap "just" fits and is tight if I don't keep my heel back. I'm keeping the shoes because I love the style and how they look on my feet. I'm going to buy them in other colors soon.

Great Kicks - I am an avid sneaker collector but had never heard of this brand. If you buy these you'll probably be the only one with them in your crowd. They look great and are extremely comfortable (feel almost like slippers) but are not overly supportive, so you may not want to wear them for hours and hours or if you're going to be doing a lot of walking. They're great for a casual night out. I normally buy 13s in a sneaker but found these a little big. I probably could have gotten by with 12s.
